From The Author
I was taught in high school that education is a lifelong process. Many years later, I still believe this. I continue to learn and grow. I hope I can share with you, through my stories, some of the joys, pains, and bewilderments I've seen, felt, or imagined. Growing up, I dreamed of someday traveling across the country and across the sea. Now, it's the far reaches of the universe that hold my interest. The journey continues. Join me!

William Zanotti was born on a hot summer day in a big city. It was a Monday. The Earth was racing toward aphelion (the farthest point away from the sun in Earth''s orbit ). Shortly thereafter a large explosion on the sun shot a solar flare toward Earth. The flare knocked out shortwave radio communications, but the Earth was otherwise fine. This event occurred one year before the first humans stepped foot on the moon. There has been speculation that the solar flare was a warning to Earth of Zanotti's arrival, and that the Apollo 11 mission to the moon was humanity's attempt to flee. What is known for sure is that Zanotti became interested in writing at the age of twelve, after reading The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Having encountered ogres, goblins, misfits and ne'er-do-wells throughout his youth in the city, he felt qualified to write his own epic. He set about hiding away in the cellar to write, and recorded exactly one page before giving up. Ten years later he received a B.A. in English-Literature from a large public university, where he developed an affinity for Shakespeare and Dickens. His love of literature sustained him during a long career in law enforcement. He began writing again after retiring from public service. He lives with his wife just outside Washington D.C., where they try to keep track of their two grown children, spread out across the country, and one over-grown cat, spread out across the living room.Zanotti writes speculative fiction.
